Meet our talented family
Meet Amanda
I've always believed that creativity has the power to heal, connect people, and bring joy. During my own mental health journey, crafting became more than just a hobby, it became a form of self-care. It gave me a healthy outlet to express my emotions, quiet my mind, and find comfort during difficult times. That experience is what inspired Art Therapy and continues to shape every piece I create.
I especially love making keychains, bracelets, and my crochet buddies. There's something incredibly rewarding about turning simple materials into something that can make someone smile. Whether it's a thoughtful gift, a colorful accessory, or a little crocheted friend, I hope each creation brings a bit of happiness to the person who receives it.
One of my favorite parts of running Art Therapy isn't just creating, it's the people. I love meeting new faces at craft shows, sharing our story, and getting to know the wonderful people who stop by our booth. Every event gives me the opportunity to step outside my comfort zone, learn something new, and grow both as an artist and as a person. I truly believe that some of life's best lessons come from trying new things and learning from our mistakes.
When I'm not crafting, you'll usually find me curled up with a good book, crocheting, spending time with my cats, or planning my next adventure. I'm an avid reader and love collecting books, and I'm a lifelong animal lover. I also enjoy swimming and have competed in numerous competitions over the years. Traveling is another passion of mine, and of all the places I've been fortunate enough to visit, Australia is my favorite.
Family means everything to me, and I'm incredibly grateful for the people who have supported me throughout my journey. That support, along with my friendship with Leylah, has made Art Therapy what it is today.
Leylah and I have been best friends since high school, and together we've walked through some of life's highest highs and lowest lows. Through our shared mental health journeys, we discovered that creativity could be a source of healing, hope, and connection. Art Therapy is more than a handmade business, it's a reflection of our friendship, our resilience, and our belief that even the smallest handmade creation can brighten someone's day.
Thank you for supporting our dream and allowing us to share a little piece of our hearts with you.
Our Story
Art Therapy was born from our own journey through mental health challenges. Creating became more than just a hobby; it became a healthy outlet for our emotions, a way to process difficult moments, and a source of comfort during some of life's hardest seasons.
Because mental health has played such an important role in our lives, we wanted a name that truly reflects who we are and what this business means to us. Art Therapy represents healing, growth, creativity, and the belief that making something with your hands can bring moments of peace, joy, and connection.
Every item we create is handmade with care, patience, and love. Whether it's a gift for someone special or something that simply makes you smile, we hope our creations bring a little happiness into your day, just as creating them has brought happiness into ours.
Thank you for supporting our small business and for being part of our journey. Your support allows us to continue doing what we love while sharing the healing power of creativity with others.
Meet Leylah
Creativity has always been a part of who I am. Sewing and quilting are my greatest passions, but I love exploring new creative outlets and learning new skills. Over the years, I've tried everything from crochet to painting to wood burning, and I enjoy the challenge and excitement of creating something new with my hands.
When I'm not in my sewing room, you'll often find me singing. I come from a very musical family, and music has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Whether I'm performing on stage in a theater production or singing with my family, music has always brought me joy. I also love cooking and baking, and I've been fortunate enough to travel throughout Europe and Asia several times. Every place I've visited has inspired me in different ways and has helped shape my creativity.
Photography is another creative passion of mine. I've had the privilege of photographing weddings, engagements, portraits, live events, landscapes, and nature. Whether I'm behind a camera or behind a sewing machine, I love capturing beauty and creating things that help people celebrate meaningful moments.
Family means everything to me. I'm one of ten siblings, and I couldn't be prouder of my brothers and sisters. We are incredibly close, and some of my favorite memories are the times we've spent making music together. I'm also a proud cat mom to four wonderful fur babies who are never too far away while I'm creating.
One of my favorite traditions is making handmade gifts for the people I love. Every Christmas, my friends and family look forward to seeing what I've created next, and there's nothing more rewarding than giving someone a gift that was made especially for them. I especially enjoy designing pieces that are practical enough to be used every day while still being fun, colorful, and full of personality.
Amanda and I have been best friends since high school, and creating together has been one of the greatest gifts of our friendship. We've supported each other through some of life's most difficult moments, including our own mental health journeys, and we've learned firsthand how healing creativity can be. Art Therapy is more than just our business, it's a reflection of our story. Every handmade piece represents resilience, hope, friendship, and the belief that creating something beautiful can help bring light into even the hardest seasons.
